Virginia DMV Invites Virginians to the Virginia Fall Classic in Newport News

RICHMOND, Va. — Start your engines! The Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is inviting Virginians to Newport News Park for the 24th Annual Virginia Fall Classic Car Show, featuring hundreds of classic, modern and specialty vehicles, including cars, motorcycles and trucks. Free to spectators, the family-friendly event runs 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, October 24, and Sunday, October 25, with plenty to see for car enthusiasts of all kinds.

“There’s something special about seeing generations of car lovers come together to admire these incredible vehicles, share stories and enjoy a weekend with their families,” said DMV Commissioner Saundra M. Jack. “The Virginia Fall Classic is a wonderful tradition, and DMV is proud to take part in events like this that bring people together, strengthen our connection to the communities we serve and support a great cause.”

Now in its 24th year, the Virginia Fall Classic has grown into a fall tradition for car lovers across the Commonwealth. But the event is about more than cars: for more than two decades, participants and spectators have helped turn their passion for vehicles into support for local children and families.

Over the past 23 years, the Virginia Fall Classic has raised more than $680,000 for Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters (CHKD). Proceeds from this year’s two-day event will once again benefit CHKD, Virginia’s only free-standing pediatric hospital, which provides inpatient and outpatient care to more than 200,000 children each year.

“The VFC Committee looks forward to a fantastic show! This year’s funds will directly support CHKD's Pediatric Mental Health Program,” said Jay Laros, Virginia Fall Classic Chairman. “We look forward to working together with VA DMV as our title sponsor.”

Participants may register for either day or both days. Registration fees vary depending on when participants register and whether they participate one or both days.
